New to the idea of blogging...

My name is Michael, and I'm relatively new to the idea of blogging. I figured it might be a good way to get things off my chest and to allow myself to develop into a writer. I guess that I should consider the following first: 1. Being that I don't know anything about blogging, I assume that there is some room for small errors or mistakes in the layout of my documents, and/or posts. 2. Being that I am new, I am probably subject to the idea that I may not become popular right away, and as such do not expect to have my posts read or followed as closely as the veterans of blogging. And 3. I should accept all new-comers with open arms and an open mind that allows me to view their thoughts in an open-minded manner.

I'm not entirely sure about what to blog, my life isn't at all interesting to myself, so what would make it interesting to people I don't know? Well, I guess before I fill out my profile information I'll release a bio-blog. (I'm not sure if that's something that is okay to do, but I am learning.)
Some background information: I grew up in Nevada until I was 14 years old, and I loved it there. The scenery was always stunning and the people there were fantastic. I'd love to go back someday to see how the town and the people in the area have changed. The October before I turned 15 I discovered that I would be moving to Alaska for my father's job. I was enthusiastic about the move, partially because I have always loved Alaska, and I prefer to cold to the heat. So in December of that year I moved to Alaska, I didn't make many friends for the first few months but as I began to break out of my shell I found that I could make some friends that I hope I keep for the rest of my life. I've lived in Alaska for five years now, and I've loved every bitter-cold moment of the winter, and every sun-shiny day of the summer. I couldn't have asked for a better place to live.

I'm an aspiring author, and I am currently working on two novels. So, I'll blog whenever possible. I plan to be published before my 21st birthday at the latest. I also enjoy writing poems, I guess it's the feeling of knowing I can create a story with my fingers and have it mean something entirely different to different people. For instance, someone could read, "and she whispered into his ear/there was nothing he should fear", as a woman trying to comfort a man in a tough situation, or as a woman telling a man it's okay to show a soft side.

I guess that's all I've got to say for now. I hope to meet new people, and experience new and wonderful ideas. Many thanks to all who read this.

- Michael
